Friend
Today when i went to fitness first, i met an old friend. one which i have known since we were in kindergarden. although we shared same kindergarden, primary and secondary, the memories that we had together is hardly any. yet, today, from a few lines that came out from his mouth, i'm proud to say, Lek Khee, you've grown into a man, matured into an adult.
A few weeks back, i met another guy from MBS, named Janson. According to him, the process of maturity is to 'dye your hair', 'wear Prada/Gucci', 'must got difference between how u dress in school and college' and so on. i told him, ' CRAP'. dont u agree? if a person wears branded goods, is he matured? Probably i cant deny that he MIGHT LOOOK matured, but yet again, if one is not matured mentally, i would not consider a person 'matured'.
a man is a man when he looks upon himself as a brand. not depending on what he wears.
this is what my mum told me when i told her about it. it's true isnt it? anyway, what lek khee said today is this :
ricky :i realised dickson, keng gein they'll are very hard to approach. when i say hi to them and try to make a conversation, it always endsup in vain. yet, i will still try.
me : well, then mayb they are people that look down on u u see.. ( trying to comfort him )
ricky : nahh i guess it's my own fault anyway. well look back when i was in form one, when we were in uncle chia's bus. i'll always have a problem with someone isnt it? u, caleb, hong tze, loke juinn, whoever =.= well i guess i was rather bitchy back then
he hui : owh comn,, look who u r talking to. i'm 10 times more bitchy than u back then. ( is bitchy the right term? i know no others =( )
ricky : well, that was the first few years.. then later my results went down the drain, and therefore i mixed with wrong friends and thus, i cant study and so and so. sigh if i only stuck with u might have a so much brighter future. coz, i might have still stuck with norhayati for bm tuition, ( which i now didn even get credit )...
he hui : oh well.. yeah back then ur attitude isnt so nice either u know. look at the marathos we ran in form one. u kept stoppping and i had to motivate u non stop to move forward.
ricky : oh well.. at least now in college i realise my mistake. i'm not going to repeat this again since what i didn had cause me some misfortune. i will strive for the best.

to realise your mistake is one thing. to take a step to correct ur mistake is a huge step. but to admit your mistakes in front of your friends, and to change totally requires alot of courage, bravery and determination. yes, that is the difference between a schookid and a matured college man. for that, i'll wish ricky with my best regards, for a brighter tomorrow. GO RICKY!
