Random info from mannatech

Why Soda Pop Drains You Dry
http://www.unhinderedliving.com/soda.html
Soda pop is not good for you. Of course, you have probably suspected this, but perhaps you don't know the extent to which drinking carbonated, caffeinated, sugared, or artificially sweetened beverages destroys your body.
If you look at the list of ingredients in most soda pops, you will likely see most or all of these listed:
caffeinecarbonated waterphosphoric acidsugaraspartameacesulfame-ksucralose
Let's start with carbonated water. As you know, our bodies require oxygen to remain healthy. For every can of carbonated soda ingested, the amount of oxygen in the blood is decreased by 25% for up to three hours. If you are drinking several sodas per day, you are depriving yourself for a significant amount of oxygen.
Calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus must be maintained in the proper balance for bone health.
When too much phosphorus is in the blood, calcium is leached from the bones, causing osteoporosis.
Even in citrus sodas which contain citric acid instead of phosphoric acid, calcium is needed to normalize blood pH.
It has been said that the fastest growing group of people with osteoporosis in this country is teenagers....because of the huge number of sodas they consume.
As far as caffeine and sugar are concerned, they both cause dehydration, and the massive depletion of minerals.
A study was done in which two groups of children aged 13-18 years of age were given one of two drinks, a caffeinated sugar-free drink, or a drink containing both caffeine and sugar.
When caffeine was added, calcium excretion in the urine increased by 25%.
When sugar was added, urinary calcium loss almost doubled (1). Both caffeine and sugar also cause dehydration.
Sugar in particular is destructive because its ingestion lowers immune function by reducing the ability of white blood cells to ingest and destroy bacteria.
This lowered immune function can last for five hours or more afterthe ingestions of sugar (2).
Sucralose, also marketed as Splenda, breaks down into small amounts of 1,6 -dichlorofructose, a chemical similar to chlorinated pesticides.
There has not been adequate testing of this product before it was released for fidyl public use, and many of the post-approval studies are alarming. To ready about it, go to Sucralose Toxicity Information Center .
Aspartame, or Nutra Sweet, has an alarming health record. Read my article about Aspartame . Even though this article is about how aspartame poisons the pregnant woman and her unborn child, you can see how it would do similar things in the bodies of others. Also, see the Aspartame (Nutra Sweet) Toxicity Info Center .
Acesulfame-k is a dangerous chemical. Read Sample Quotes from Cancer Experts' Letters on Acesulfame Testing .
I hope you will consider giving up the drinking of soda pop. It would contribute significantly to your level of wellness, and probably help reverse many existing health problems.

i wrote none of the above =)

JCI CYEA - Penang trip

CYEA = Creative Young Entrepuneurs Award
I went to Penang on Saturday, and to come back on Sunday. Yeah, as usual, Penang only means one thing. F.O.O.D. Well, big thanks to my mum, who will go I WANNA EAT THIS!! I WANNA EAT THAT!!! and she'll order something, have a bite, then 'he hui, finish this'. well, thats why i'm always stuffed when my mum starts to hunt for food.

Well, this is how penang welcomes us. I was like WHAT THE HECK MAN. You pay even if you just wanna have a sit. Then only i realised Penang is a changed place. Last time it used to be 'half the quantity, half the price, double the quality' compared to KL. It has always been known that KL will have the most expensive foods, and yeah. Well, let see. This time, just a simple SMALL plate of Char Kuey Teow will cost you like 3-4 ringgit. And i assure you that you'll always find BIGGEr plates of it in KL with the same price. Don't compare places like LITTLE PENANG or MADAM KUAN with Penang of course, since we're comparing Food Courts. My sis deduced, well look at the welcoming line, look at Gurney drive. It SHOULD be expensive. Well yeah, CALCULATIVE Penang hawkers will definately increase price to earn more. Sigh.
Anyway, here's some photos of the JCI CYEA.

Sad day.

Today had been a very sad day for me. At around 1.30, Mr. Soo called me and said ' hey you can check your results already. shit wei.' well, his shit consists of 2 full marks at least. sigh.
i logged in to the edexcel site, and was shivering from head to toe. While the page is loading, i had a very very bad feeling, and yeah, my instincts had seldom been wrong. Once the page loaded, the first two result that surfaced was enough to kill me. Chemistry 1. 60++/90(cant remember exactly.. somewhere between 66-68) Chemistry 2. 57/90. WTH?? i quickly scanned through the rest of the page to see whether there are any same numbers standing side by side. shit. no. English literature 1 71/120. English literature 3 68/90. What the heck? Core mathematics 1 88/100 Core Mathematics 2 92/100. Heck? i've been aiming for full score.Physics 1 83/90 ok i caught my breath there and finally 65/90 for physics two. GOSH.
I stared at the page for around 5 minutes, lost in thought, then i called edward back. he tell me jason for full marks for like 4 papers, strong a for another 3, and a lower one for only one paper. then someone rumoured me armani got full marks for lit. I started calling people to ask for marks, lots are scoring like damn high marks. Either they're smartasses, or i'm a dumbass. More likely me a dumbass. I almost cried out loud when su anne talked with me though lol.
Later i went out with kaiwei, and again she tell me another bad news of hers.
ouch.

Copied from ccm. i'm too lazy to write anything. xD

888
Tomorrow is 08/08/08, a very special date because an average person can only lived that day once through out their life time. Its like you gotta wait another 100 years before it can be like 08/08/2108, but with that one in the figure, it made 08/08/2008 even more special!*Chants the world with 888 fat fat fat 888 fatt fatt farrrrt... *Don't tell me 08/08/8008 is even more auspicious or 8/8/8888, like who will live until that day.And its Beijing's Olympic tomorrow! Commencing on the 8th of August 2008, at 8.08 and the 8th second. The opening ceremony is gonna be one hell of a blast! How i wish I could be there witnessing the entire process, but.. Oh well.
The nest!! The magnificent nest!!!Where the ceremony begins.
The National Swimming Center
The CCTV building with two towers leaning inwards has redefined thinking as to how skyscrapers can be built.Who is kind enough to bring me to Beijing :(*How come every time during ghost festival, the weather sure change drastically one? One day before chor-yat I remember the weather was so dry and hot can melt people that type but once chor-yat, the weather turned cloudier, and then rained. Is it really because of that "special occasion?" Lol I don't know :P but every year is the same.*Public transport in Malaysia - suck.Over the years, despite receiving so many complaints about the public transportation system in Malaysia, I don't see much action taken to improve it.Being a frequent patron, I don't understand why can't the authorities put more effort into improving their services, and fulfilling the hiking demand of customers as much as possible. Ever since the fuel hike, more people are taking public transports, but obviously the system is still incapable of fulfilling most of our needs.Take for example, in an LRT, i would suggest you not to sit if you're short, or else when people started to squeeze among one another like tuna sandwiches, some random passenger's butt will stick to your face if you're lucky. And what is with the price anyway. A student wearing a school uniform is only allowed for concession price? How about other students who are not wearing uniforms, or when they want to travel during the weekends? How about college students, uni students? Aren't they students as well?Does that imply that students who wear uniforms are considered as "true" students, in order to avoid "fake" students from gaining benefit in terms of a lower priced ticket? Is that even necessary?Take a look at Singapore, all they have to do is to scan their card and then they will be given a concession price.Come la dear government, start investing wisely, not throwing a few million to the space just for the sake of obtaining a title which sounds a little like this:I HAS GONE TO SPACE, I IS MALAYSIAN! MALAYSIA BOLEH!
